Elevate Your Satellite Operations with Satellite Director
Satellite Director by Zekitez revolutionizes satellite management with its intuitive interface and powerful analytics tools, making it easier than ever to optimize satellite performance and operations.
Finding a TV satellite or antenna in azimuth can be a challenging task. It requires calculations using GPS location, magnetic variation, compass azimuth, and satellite position. However, Satellite Director simplifies this process by replacing all of that. Here are some tips to help you succeed:
- Access to sensor data (GPS location and compass) is required to calculate the position of the satellite in the sky.
- Access to internal/external storage is necessary for tasks such as storing a screenshot or a modified list of satellites (adding, deleting, or changing satellites).
- Access to a camera is needed to imitate a 'look through view' or 'mirror effect,' which allows you to align the satellite dish (lnb arm) with the displayed arrow.
Satellite Director respects your privacy by not collecting or sharing any personal or non-personal data. It also does not use any form of advertising.
Please note that this app requires a phone or tablet with a compass. Phones or tablets without a compass cannot download this app. If you are unsure about your device's compass accuracy, compare it with a real compass before using the app.
It is important to calibrate your phone's compass before use. Metal covers/cases or those with magnetic closures can interfere with the compass function. Avoid using such covers. Additionally, other electromagnetic fields or aging could affect the accuracy of your phone's compass even after calibration.
There may be compatibility issues with Android Cyanogenmod / Cymod. Should you encounter any problems while using this app on Cyanogenmod / Cymod, please contact their support team instead of the app developer.
This add-free app relies on advertisement revenue from YouTube videos to sustain its development. Your support is appreciated by watching these videos.
Here's how Satellite Director works:
- Enable GPS on your phone or enter your GPS location.
- Select the desired TV satellite or antenna location.
- Point your phone towards the sky to target (find) the TV satellite.
- The satellite is found when the white ball is in the white circle and the cyan ball is in the cyan circle.
- Align the offset arm of the satellite dish in azimuth with the cyan arrow on the phone's display to align the satellite dish with the satellite.
Selectable audio tone, camera preview, continuous mode, color pickers, and a user-defined satellite position are additional features that can help you find your desired TV satellite more easily. The app supports 280 satellites in its list.
You can also take a photo or screenshot by touching the director tab. Please note that these photos/screenshot are stored only on the phone's memory card.
If you are within close proximity to iron (dish/pole), a green/yellow/red bar will indicate your distance as a precautionary measure.
Satellite positions are derived from Agi's database. While some positions may appear slightly inaccurate (example: Hispasat 30°w listed as 29.96°w), they are generally very accurate.
New phones with Android 4: If you experience incorrect compass readings, the "Settings" screen offers options to correct them.
Previous versions of this app can be found on the developer's website. For any questions, requests, or problems, please contact the developer via email.

Here are three tips for success:
- Avoid getting too close to the iron dish, iron lnb arm, or iron pole (maintain at least a 30 cm distance).
- Calibrate the compass of your phone by waving it in a figure 8 motion before starting.
- Optionally, calibrate the compass by rolling your phone along its length axis about 2-3 turns (works on some phones).
